This elegant, black-tie Inn at St. John’s wedding in Plymouth, Michigan was a highlight of the 2019 wedding season!
Heather and Logan first met at the beach on Hilton Head Island, and after 2 dates, they both knew they were headed for marriage. Anticipating a proposal, Heather kept Logan on his toes as he planned a special way to ask her. With champagne, flowers, and the ring of her dreams, Logan surprised Heather at home with an intimate proposal. She, of course, said YES! They celebrated with dinner and a weekend staycation in Atlanta.
One of the great choices Heather and Logan made in their wedding planning was booking getting ready rooms that were:
1) Spacious
2) Had light colored walls and elegant furniture
3) Had large floor to ceiling windows that let in tons of natural light!
Your getting ready location might seem like an insignificant decision, but it makes a HUGE impact on your photos.
For details, putting on your dress, and other moments like hugs from Mom or a first look with Dad, you want pretty skin tones and abundant, natural light. This ensures the final photos look timeless, elegant, and true to life!
A tiny, cramped room with neon green furniture and small, tinted windows won’t translate into light, airy, classic looking pictures. When you’re deciding where to get ready, keep this in mind!
“My wedding day was an absolute dream,” Heather says, looking back.
It started relaxed, with close friends and family getting ready together, talking, laughing, and enjoying the spacious suite at The Inn at St. John’s. When the gorgeous bouquet from Angel’s Floral Creations arrived, Heather almost cried! “It was absolutely breathtaking and dreamy!”
The wedding ceremony took place at St. Kenneth Catholic Church in Plymouth. Logan and Heather saw each other for the first time that day at the ceremony. His reaction was so sweet! Heather remembers how handsome and perfect he looked as she walked down the aisle, and how she couldn’t believe the moment was finally here.
Another special part of this wedding day was celebrating with Heather’s 3 nephews! They were adorable walking down the aisle together, and we captured so many cute moments of them watching the ceremony & bringing the party to the reception too!
We took portraits at the beautiful property at the Inn at St. John’s. While overcast skies threatened rain, we were so grateful to avoid any sprinkles until the very last minute! And when it did start to sprinkle, we pulled out a cute umbrella to keep Heather’s dress and hair dry.
Once guests hit the dance floor, Heather and Logan soaked in the amazing feeling of being loved and celebrated by all their friends and family in the same room. She put it perfectly – “It’s a feeling I’ll never forget!”
